Tempest in a Teapot, New Host to DipCon 2008

What: The North American Diplomacy Championships, 2008
Tempest in a Teapot, the annual signature event of the Potomac Tea & Knife Society, promises to be a truly special experience this year. Already the largest face-to-face event held in the U.S. of A. last year, we were expecting expansion to the tune of at least two more boards per round this year... and that was before DipCon was thrust upon us!
There are three airports to fly in, for your convenience: IAD is the closest, and DCA is nearly as close; BWI is appreciably further, but if you need to fly in to there we can still work out travel accomodations to & from.
Tysons Corner is a local shopping mecca, within easy striking range of the mass of tourist attractions in our nation's capital. Only three of the four rounds will be scored, so feel free to take time off and see museums, monuments, government buildings, or whatever else strikes your fancy... if you desire assistance in choosing how to allocate your time, the Tempest staff will be happy to help!
Round start times will be Friday the 10th at 7pm, Saturday at 7am and 7pm, and Sunday at 7am. Complaints about having to rise early will fall on deaf ears, as I will have to be awake for at least as long as any of you... in fact, plans are in motion for assistants to force me to stay awake. Win early, win often, and win quickly... then you'll have a lot more free time!
Players are encouraged to bring other games they enjoy, as we will have a massive space, more than sufficient to hold non-Diplomacy action running concurrent with DipCon.
Early preregistration is only $35. However, after 9/1 it leaps to $50, and at the door it will be $75. So save yourself some cash, and our staff some grief, by getting your early preregistrations in to buffalo@guisarme. net
