Edi Birsan is working on a Variant for the Chinese period of the Three Kingdoms (260-290AD).  It is designed to be played with 3-4-5-6 players and may make a reasonable second board for those times when there are not enough players.

Edi says it needs testing.  Anyone interested should email him and he'll send you the rules and the current map.
The map can be blown up to 2x3 at any Staples in black and white for like $4 or so.
