Searching For Zines, Current and Old
The purpose of this post is actually two-fold.
First, one of the many projects I've considered getting involved in over the past year is the idea of releasing a new issuse of Zine Register, which lists every known Diplomacy zine (and many other multiplayer gaming zines which may not actually run Diplomacy). Back in the old days, those listings were limited almost exclusively to postal zines, but this version (and I believe those immediately prior) would list both postal and email zines, whether available in pdf or text or Word or html formats.
So, although I haven't officially started working on such a project, I'd appreciate it is anyone with knowledge of current zines I may not be aware of would email me and let me know all the details...or simply post a comment on this blog with the information.
Secondly, I am continuing work on posting Diplomacy World back issues, and I hope to have a few more done later this week. However, on the Whining Kent Pigs Diplomacy site - http://www.whiningkentpigs.com/DW/ - I've posted other zines such as Supernova (a novice packet) and issues of my old discussion zine Foolhardy. If you are a former postal Diplomacy player and you have issues of old zines you think today's players (or nostalgic Dipsters like myself) would be interested in, please contact me so perhaps we can arrange for you to send them to me for scanning, or even scan them yourself for me to post. It's just a thought.
Happy stabbing!
